The purpose of the article is to critically analyse the monograph Caroline D. Ditlev-Simonsen “A Guide to Sustainable Corporate Responsibility From Theory to Action”. To broaden the reader's knowledge, other publications on sustainable corporate responsibility are also listed, including case studies from different countries. The example of reducing the ozone hole shows that corporations are able to implement pro-environmental measures. Their activities we can evaluate in terms of virtue ethics and duty ethics. The UN documents are too general. In practice, the consumer can live without many products produced by corporations and Coca-Cola is a prime example because it is not essential to life. Companies should include sustainability in their strategies, missions and visions. Important are the legal regulations imposed on the companies. The conclusion of the article is that we need the critique of GDP, because it ignores social and environmental aspects. It is also important to point out the destructive impact of the current consumption model, embedded in the linear economy model, which leads straight to climate catastrophe, and is promoted by celebrities.
