Wpływ przyrostu naturalnego i salda migracji stałych ludności na wzrost liczby mieszkańców Płocka w latach 1946-2015 / The impact of the natural growth and permanent migration balance on the increase of the population of the city of Plock in 1946-2015

Abstract

Streszczenie: W artykule autor analizuje przyrost naturalny i migracje ludności Płocka i omawia ich wpływ na wzrost ludności miasta. Udowa­dnia, że w poszczególnych podokresach zmieniało się ich znaczenie w przyroście rzeczywistym ludności. Najwyższy przeciętny roczny przy­rost mieszkańców następował w okresie intensywnego uprzemysławia­nia (1956-1975) oraz w okresie początkowego pełnienia funkcji woje­wódzkiej (1976-1989) przez miasto. Po utracie tych funkcji i zmianie sytuacji demograficznej w kraju od 1999 r. miasto powoli traci miesz­kańców na skutek malejącego przyrostu naturalnego i przewagi odpływu ludności nad napływem. Jednocześnie w strefie podmiejskiej Płocka, jak i innych miast w kraju, następuje wzrost liczby mieszkańców.

Summary: Author of the article analyzes the natural growth and migrations of Plock’s population and discusses their impact on the population growth in the city. He proves that in respective sub-periods their significance changed in the real growth rate of the population. The highest average annual growth in the number of the inhabitants occured   during   intensive  industrialization (1956-1975) and at the  beginning of the voivodeship function of the city (1976-1989). After these functions have been lost, and the demographic situation in Poland has changed since 1999, the city slowly loses its inhabitants due to a decline in natural growth and the predominance of population's outflow over inflow. Yet, at the same time, the number of inhabitants in the suburbs of  Plock, as well as of other Polish cities, increases.
