Abstract

Streszczenie: Kazimierz Betley był jednym z założycieli harcerstwa w Płocku, komendantem drużyny im. R. Traugutta, po podjęciu studiów w Warszawie kontynuował działalność w harcerstwie, równocześnie wstępując do Polskiej Organizacji Wojskowej. W 1918 r. wstąpił ochotniczo do Wojska Polskiego z przydziałem do 1 pułku piechoty Legionów. W kwietniu 1919 r. brał udział w walkach z wojskami rosyjskimi o Wilno, a następnie we wrześniu 1919 r. uczestniczył w walkach pod Dyneburgiem. Został tam ciężko ranny i zmarł w Wilnie 1 października 1919 r. Pamięć o nim w międzywojennym Płocku była bardzo żywa.

Summary: Kazimierz Betley was one of the founders of scouting in Plock and the commander of the team name R. Traugutt. After his study in Warsaw, K. Betley continued to work in scouting and joined the Polish Military Organization at the same time. In 1918 he volunteered to the Polish Army with the allocation of 1st regiment infantry of the Legions. In April 1919 he fought with Russian troops in defense of Vilnius, then in Septemper 1919 he took part in the battles of Dyneburg. There he was seriously wounded and died on 1st October in Vilnius 1919. In the interwar period in Plock the memory about Kazimierz Betley was very durable.
