Abstract

In common narratives, the future appears as an unknown, unpredictable, and unsafe land. The article presents the results of a quality research realised by using essays of 124 students of a public university in Warsaw written at the turn of 2020 and 2021. Pedagogy students answered in their papers the question as given in the title: “How would you wish the world to look like in year 2030?” The received results allowed to distinguish main fields of social life which are the object of future expectations and dreams. As the most important issues, the following were mentioned: society, environment, geopolitics, economy, technology, law, health and education. The article indicates also the currently predominant mode of thinking about the future, called “back to normality”
